The AKM42E-EKCNR-00 is a synchronous servomotor developed by Kollmorgen, designed for high-dynamics applications such as machine tools, textile and packaging equipment, and industrial robotics. The motor operates best under ambient conditions, with an 84 mm flange size, 2 rotor length and a maximum bus voltage of 640 VDC. Additionally, it has a built-in resolver for standard feedback, evaluated by the servo amplifier to supply sinusoidal currents. Alterative feedback systems affect motor length and are not retrofit capable. The motor must be properly stored, shipped, maintained, and operated, and needs to be earthed to a busbar. Successful operation requires not unplugging the connectors when live and regularly checking for bearing noise in every 2500 hours of operation, replacing the bearing if necessary.
