APCNT1/3
The APCNT1/3 PC Unit from B & R Automation is a compact yet robust module in the APC Industrial Automation PC Units series, designed for heavy-duty industrial environments. It operates on a 24 V nominal input voltage and features a Multilayer industrial-grade FR-4 PC board engineered for superior mechanical strength and thermal resistance. Measuring 14 cm x 6 cm x 2 cm and weighing only 0.1 kg, the APCNT1/3 delivers a high power-to-size ratio ideal for installations with limited space. The unit integrates both Electrolytic (680 μF, 16A) and Ceramic (SMD) capacitor types, balancing high energy storage with minimal signal path resistance. Protection mechanisms for Short-circuit, Over-current, and Over-temperature conditions ensure uninterrupted operation under voltage fluctuations or component stress.
\n\nThe APCNT1/3 PC Unit’s performance stems from its carefully selected components and thermal management strategy. High-capacitance filtration is provided by a 680 μF, 16A electrolytic capacitor, while low-impedance decoupling is achieved with SMD ceramic capacitors, optimizing both ripple suppression and transient response. Thermal dissipation is handled by a Passive aluminum heatsink, eliminating the need for active cooling and reducing maintenance points. Dual mounting options—Surface Mount (SMD) and Through-Hole—allow flexibility in assembly orientation and integration into various enclosure designs. Connectivity is supported by two connector types: a 2x3 (6-pin) shrouded male box header (2.54 mm pitch) for ribbon cables and modular plug-in use, and a 2-pin surface-mount JST-style connector for power or signal input. The construction and component selection yield stable electrical performance across the entire operating range.
\n\nReliability is further enhanced by the APCNT1/3’s Operating environment temperature: –25 °C to +70 °C rating and IP67 protection against dust and water ingress. The multilayer FR-4 PCB substrate maintains signal integrity and mechanical stability under thermal cycling and vibration. At just 0.1 kg, the module can be easily integrated into compact control panels, robotic controllers, and distributed I/O systems. This PC unit is particularly suited for automated manufacturing cells, process control loops, and mobile machinery where space constraints and harsh conditions prevail. By combining high-capacity filtering, robust protection, and versatile mounting, the APCNT1/3 ensures both dependable integration and continuous operation in demanding industrial automation applications.
