BL III-D
The Okuma BL III-D drive is a core component of the BL Servo Drives series, designed to deliver robust motion control in industrial automation environments. Operating on a main circuit power of three-phase 180 to 240 VAC (50/60 Hz), the BL III-D provides a flexible voltage range that simplifies integration into standard power systems. Key features include built-in protective and abnormality detecting functions and a maximum current range of 13 to 125 A depending on unit capacity, ensuring reliable performance under diverse load conditions. Its primary function is to coordinate and synchronize axis control, making it ideal for precision multi-axis machinery and complex automation systems.
In terms of technical specifications, the BL III-D integrates an array of advanced features for enhanced operational safety and control. The drive supports a motor capacity range of 15 to 150 kW, covering mid-sized servo motors up to high-power applications. Protective and abnormality detecting functions include ground fault, overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperature, and communication fault detection, all monitored continuously with status display via LED indicators. The unit also incorporates a discharge circuit capacity of 80 W (BL II-D PD1) and an optional resistor unit installation capacity of 320 W for 15–100 kW models and 480 W for larger units, providing effective energy dissipation during braking and fault conditions.
Beyond core performance, the BL III-D drive offers additional features that enhance compatibility, durability, and efficiency in demanding industrial settings. The control circuit accepts single-phase 85 to 125 VAC power, enabling flexible installation options. Its comprehensive protective suite reduces unplanned downtime, while the high discharge and resistor capacities ensure rapid energy handling during dynamic stops. Without reliance on external modules for basic fault management, the drive streamlines system architecture and lowers overall maintenance costs. By delivering precise torque control across a broad kW range and safeguarding equipment through integrated monitoring, the BL III-D drive optimizes productivity and reliability in heavy-duty CNC, robotics, and other industrial applications.
