Its compact size makes it smaller compared to the power section and it features a Safe Motion (SIL2 / cat. 3 PLd) safety option at its X41.1 / X41.2 connection points. It is not designed for underwater use, and proper grounding and adherence to the EMC specifications are crucial for safe operation. The section houses a RS 232 serial interface, two configurable slots, isolated input/output at X31 and X32 points, and operates from 0V and 24V terminal connectors.
