The Beckhoff Automation CX5140 series, an offshoot of the reliable CX5000 series, features an Intel Atom quad-core processor with a 1.91 GHz clock rate, introducing a versatile, multi-core processor to the Embedded PC sphere. With similar hardware features as the CX5000 series, upgrades pose no complications. It provides multiple connectivity options including a DVI-I interface, two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, four USB 2.0 ports, and a variety of potential connections through its optional interface with K-bus or E-bus terminals. The fan-less design of the CX5140 series guarantees efficient power usage while allowing implementation of PLC/motion or PLC control operations with or without visualization. It supports various operating systems to suit users’ preferences. TwinCAT Runtime variations further increase its adaptability, making the CX5140 series a highly versatile automation tool.
