The Beckhoff EJ2889-0000 from the EJ EtherCAT Plugins series is a high-performance EtherCAT plug-in module engineered by Beckhoff for precise digital output control. This compact module features 16 outputs with a maximum 0.5 A output current per channel and ground-switching capability, making it ideal for industrial automation applications. Designed to serve as the interface between controllers and actuators, it uses ground switching to complete the return path, ensuring reliable and accurate actuation control across various loads.
This plug-in module draws a typ. 30 mA auxiliary power current plus load consumption and requires typ. 130 mA on the E-bus. Each channel offers short-circuit proof protection with a breaking energy of < 100 mJ/channel to minimize arcing and component wear. The module supports ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads and features LED indicators on each channel for real-time status monitoring and fault diagnostics. With a short-circuit current of typ. < 7 A, the EJ2889-0000 maintains stability under transient fault conditions.
Designed for rugged industrial environments, the module provides 500 V electrical isolation between the E-bus and field potential, protecting against noise and voltage surges. It meets EMC immunity and emission standards EN 61000-6-2/EN 61000-6-4 and vibration/shock resistance EN 60068-2-6/EN 60068-2-27.
