The EK1101-0080 is a product from Beckhoff Automation GmbH, specifically an EtherCAT coupler with an ID switch. Its main function is to connect ELxxxxEtherCAT terminals to 100BASE-TX EtherCAT networks, utilizing the Fast Hot Connect technology. This allows for seamless adjustments to topologies during operation, significantly reducing connection times. The device uses shielded CAT-5 cables for data transmission and features two RJ-45 interfaces. With an EtherCAT device protocol, it can reach a Baud rate of 100MBaud and enable a quick fieldbus boot-up. The device can address up to 4.2GB of IO points, has an IP 20 protection category, and tolerates an E-bus current of 1000mA at over 55°C. The EK1101-0080's housing features a signal LED and bears the certifications of UL, CE, IECEx, and ATEX, in addition to adhering to the EMC emission specifications of EN 61000-6-4.
