EK1400
The Beckhoff EK1400 EtherCAT coupler, part of the EK EtherCAT Couplers series, provides a high-performance interface for industrial automation networks. Featuring an EtherCAT bus system and two RJ45 fieldbus interfaces, the EK1400 supports up to 65,535 expansion terminals for large-scale distributed I/O topologies. Powered by a 24 V DC supply, this coupler ensures reliable data exchange between master controllers and modular I/O stations, making it ideal for synchronized, high-speed machine communication.
Designed with industrial robustness in mind, the EK1400 draws approximately 100 mA from the bus and can handle up to 10 A on its power contacts. Its compact housing measures 44 mm x 100 mm x 68 mm and is constructed of durable plastic, while DIN-rail mounting simplifies installation and maintenance. The device tolerates operating temperatures from 0 to 55 °C and variable installation positions without performance degradation. With IP20 protection, the EK1400 is safeguarded against solid foreign objects and provides safe operation within electrical cabinets.
The coupler’s flexibility extends to a wide range of cabinet layouts thanks to variable installation positions and lightweight construction (approx. 140 g). Its standardized DIN-rail mounting system speeds up assembly and repositioning during system upgrades. Compliant with EN 60068-2-6 vibration and EN 60068-2-27 shock standards, the EK1400 delivers dependable operation under harsh conditions.
