Produced by Beckhoff Automation, a leader in industrial automation devices, the EK1521-0010 is a single-port, fiber optic, EtherCAT junction that transforms signals from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX fiber optic medium. This EtherCAT terminal, part of Beckhoff's versatile I/O offerings, must be paired with an EtherCAT coupler to function. Capable of supporting long-distance communications of up to 2,000 meters, the EK1521-0010 does not require an EtherCAT ID or configuration, as the ID is set via the EtherCAT coupler. The coupler is also responsible for the device's power supply through the E-bus. A current consumption of 350 mA characterizes the device, which also features two front-facing indicators for operational information. The device is operational between temperatures of -25 and +60 degrees Celsius and can tolerate -40 and +85 degrees when off. Notably, the EK1521-0010 supports Duplex single-mode fiber optic cables with SC duplex connectors, with a core diameter difference from EK1521.
