The Beckhoff EK1828 coupler features a compact design housing with four digital inputs and eight digital outputs. Without a distributed clock feature, the unit utilizes Ethernet Cat-5 cables for transmission, supporting a direct plug-in technique for conductor connection. Depending on the connected terminals, the product can supply a voltage of up to 5V or a current to a maximum of 1,000mA. Adhering to Ethernet ISO/IEC 8802-3 standards, this device also incorporates a 100Mbit Fast Ethernet (100BASE-TX) high-level network technology and EtherCAT Device high-level network protocol. With storage temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C, it can be installed either horizontally or vertically. For ESD protection, the unit should be terminated using a bus cap, and both user and usage areas need to be grounded. Compliant with EN61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 standards for EMC immunity and emission respectively, electric connections are established via six spring and power contacts.
