EL3114
The Beckhoff EL3114 EtherCAT Terminal is part of the EL EtherCAT Terminals series and features four differential current inputs supporting a signal range of 0–20 mA, with a high 16-bit resolution. Designed by Beckhoff for industrial automation, this module sources its power via the E-bus and performs analog-to-digital conversion in approximately 100 μs. Its primary function is the precise acquisition and digital representation of current signals for real-time control in distributed systems.
This terminal offers four differential channels with an input filter limit frequency of 5 kHz and typical internal resistance of 85 Ω + diode voltage. The device ensures measurement accuracy with an uncertainty of ±0.3% (relative to full scale) and supports distributed clocks with a precision of << 1 μs, enabling synchronized sampling across multiple nodes. Additional unique features include electrical isolation of signal paths and a maximum common-mode voltage tolerance of 10 V, enhancing noise immunity and signal integrity.
Built to withstand harsh industrial environments, the EL3114 operates from –25 to +60 °C and can be stored between –40 and +85 °C, while resisting surge voltages up to 35 V DC. It carries multiple approvals and markings, including CE, CCC, UL, ATEX, IECEx, demonstrating compliance with international safety and explosion-proof standards. By integrating low-latency conversion, high precision, and robust protection into a compact module, the EL3114 offers reliable, efficient performance, reducing installation time and improving data accuracy in demanding automation applications.
