The Beckhoff EL6631 is a PROFINET controller supplement that facilitates the transformation of a Beckhoff PC or Embedded PC into a PROFINET IO controller. This product is utilized within the EtherCAT network, designed by Beckhoff to capitalize on the benefits of the established Ethernet network. It's operated by the Beckhoff TwinCAT program, offering assured and precise time regimes for programming tasks. The unit features two channels, status diagnostic LEDs and gets its power supply via the E-bus. The EL6631 maintains a one-millisecond minimum real-time cycle and a one kilobyte maximum for both input and output data. Safety measures against electrostatic discharge must be taken during installation and wiring. The device has been awarded CE, ATEX, and cULus certification and can be mounted on a 35 mm rail with traction lever unlocking. Activating the device requires an Ethernet card equipped with an Intel chipset and a TwinCAT Ethernet driver.
