The Beckhoff EP2308-0001 module from the EP Digital Input Modules series is an EtherCAT Box offering eight channels configured as 4-channel input and 4-channel output in a compact 30 mm-wide plastic housing. It features native EtherCAT connectivity via dual M8 connectors and operates on a 24 V DC supply with 3.0 ms typ. signal filter on the inputs. Outputs provide up to 0.5 A per channel with built-in short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection. Rated IP65, IP66, IP67 and UL-approved, it meets EN 61131-2 positive switching specs and certifies for ATEX Zone 2 (gas), not intrinsically safe. The unit endures shock, vibration, and ambient temperatures from -25 °C to +60 °C, while offering 500 V isolation for robust industrial automation performance.
