The Beckhoff EP2318-0002 module, part of the EP Digital Input Modules series, is a high-performance EtherCAT I/O Box designed for demanding industrial automation tasks. It offers EtherCAT communication with ultra-fast cycle times and supports 8 channels of standard digital I/O, divided equally between four inputs and four outputs. Featuring an IP65 to IP67 protection rating, this unit operates reliably in harsh environments. Expanding on its technical prowess, the EP2318-0002 employs a 10 µs digital filter response time, ensuring minimal latency and stable signal conditioning during rapid process changes. The box connects via ruggedized M12 connections and consumes a nominal 24 V DC supply voltage, compatible with common industrial power systems. Enclosed in a durable PA6 (polyamide) housing, its compact dimensions of 30 x 126 x 26.5 mm support space-efficient installation. The module’s output channels each deliver up to 0.5 A, enabling direct actuation of sensors and lightweight devices without additional drivers.
Built for robust operation, this Beckhoff module withstands temperatures from –25°C to +60°C and meets IP65, IP66, and IP67 ingress protection standards against dust, water jets, and immersion. Mounting is simplified with two M3 fixing holes (Ø 3.5 mm), and its lightweight design at 165 g reduces structural load on machine frames.
