EPP2338-0001
The Beckhoff EPP2338-0001 is a compact EtherCAT P Box module from the EPP EtherCAT P Box Modules series, designed by Beckhoff for demanding industrial automation tasks. This device features 8 digital I/Os configurable as inputs or outputs, each protected to be short-circuit proof. Communication is handled via the EtherCAT protocol, offering high-speed, deterministic data transfer. With its primary function of bridging field-level sensors and actuators to a machine-level EtherCAT network, the EPP2338-0001 ensures seamless integration in control systems.
This module supports a robust bus interface with 2×M8 P-coded, shielded sockets and uses M8×1, 3-pin, A-coded connectors for I/O wiring. Inputs feature an input filter time of 10 µs to suppress interference, while outputs deliver up to 0.5 A per channel and share a sensor supply of max. 0.5 A, all short-circuit proof and polarity-protected. The rated load voltage is 24 V DC (−15%/+20%), and switching times are rapid, with typical TON of 50 µs and TOFF of 100 µs. In the event of a fault, the module can sustain a short-circuit current of typically 1.5 A without damage.
Built for harsh environments, the EPP2338-0001 carries an IP65/66/67 protection rating and meets vibration resistance requirements per EN 60068-2-6, ensuring reliable operation under mechanical stress. It handles high-level signal voltages of 11…30 V (6 mA input) and low-level voltages of –3…+5 V, offering broad compatibility with industrial sensors and actuators. Weighing approximately 165 g, its polyamide housing with polyurethane sealing delivers durability and compactness. Certified with CE and UL approval markings, this EtherCAT P Box module enhances system efficiency, reduces wiring complexity, and delivers dependable performance for modern automation applications.
