ES2022
The Beckhoff ES2022 digital output terminal from the ES EtherCAT Terminals series by Beckhoff offers two short-circuit-proof outputs with a nominal voltage of 24 V DC (-15%/+20%) and a maximum output current of 2.0 A per channel. Engineered for industrial automation, this module drives ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads with precision. Its primary function is to provide reliable switching operations in control systems, making it ideal for machine building, factory automation, and process control applications.
Featuring a 4-wire connection technology, the ES2022 integrates comprehensive safety and protection mechanisms. Each channel includes reverse voltage protection and built-in short-circuit protection with a typical short-circuit current of < 70 A and a breaking energy of < 1.7 J per channel. The terminal draws only 100 mA from the E-bus and 9 mA plus the load current from the power contacts, ensuring energy efficiency. Fast switching is achieved with a typical turn-on time (TON) of 40 μs and turn-off time (TOFF) of 200 μs, delivering high responsiveness for dynamic automation tasks.
Designed for robust operation, the ES2022 carries an IP20 protection rating and conforms to vibration and shock resistance standards EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27. It meets EMC immunity requirements according to EN 61000-6-2/EN 61000-6-4 and is certified by CE, UL, ATEX, and IECEx for use in hazardous environments. Operating reliably between –25 °C and +60 °C (storage –40 °C to +85 °C), this compact 55 g module simplifies installation and maintenance with pluggable wiring. In industrial applications, the ES2022 enhances system uptime, reduces wiring complexity, and delivers safe, energy-efficient switching performance.
