The Beckhoff FC3101-0000 is a Lightbus card from the FC Lightbus Card Series, designed for integration with PROFIBUS DP fieldbus systems. It serves as a 1-channel PROFIBUS master/slave PCI interface card, supporting standards such as PROFIBUS DP, DP-V1, DP-V2, and PROFIBUS MC. This card facilitates data transfer rates from 9.6 kbaud to 12 Mbaud and connects via a galvanically decoupled 9-pin D-sub socket to ensure stable, interference-free communication. Featuring expanded diagnostics with two LEDs per channel, it provides real-time communication feedback. The FC3101-0000 accommodates up to 3 kbytes of data per channel and operates within a temperature range of 0 to +55°C. Measuring 106 mm x 175 mm, it fits standard PCI slots. With cycle times starting at 200 µs, it ensures time-efficient performance for industrial automation tasks. Although optimal for legacy systems, Beckhoff suggests the EL6720 for newer installations with enhanced functionality.
