The HDS04.1-W200N-HT12-01-FW is a modular axis drive controller in the HDS Drive Controllers series. It is used in the DIAX04 motion control platform, where it regulates the power stage that feeds servo and spindle motors in multi-axis cabinets. In industrial automation, the unit converts bus commands into controlled current and velocity response for coordinated motion in gantries, conveyors, and machining centers. Because it operates between the motion platform and the motor power stage, it supports synchronized axis behavior during changing load conditions and complex machine movement. This arrangement makes the controller suitable for systems that require accurate regulation across several connected axes.
Communication is handled through the SERCOS fiber-optic ring, which allows cyclic command and status exchange with very precise timing. The fiber-optic interface supports coordinated motion tasks in which multiple axes must respond in step with the control system. Cooling is provided by a built-in internal air blower that pulls cabinet air through the heat sink, so no external ducting is required. This cooling method supports rated operation up to 45 °C ambient. The drive also has a continuous output capability of 200 A, allowing it to regulate high motor current without derating under normal operating conditions.
The unit is assigned to Line 04, which matches cabinet layouts that use 50 mm rail spacing. It is supplied as Version 1. The controller uses a common pinout and diagnostic structure within the series, so adjacent modules can follow the same cabinet wiring pattern. Its format is intended for modular cabinet installation alongside related drive components in the same rack. The resulting layout helps keep power and control sections arranged in a consistent way inside the enclosure.
