The Beckhoff IE2808 from the IE Extension Box Units series is a compact I/O extension unit featuring 16 outputs via a 25-pin D-sub UNC4-40 socket, each channel delivering a 0.5 A max output current per channel at a 24 V DC nominal output voltage. Its rugged housing measures 30 mm x 126 mm x 26.5 mm and provides IP65/66/67 protection. The unit draws a typical 30 mA auxiliary power current and supports a total output current of 4 A, with channels that are short-circuit proof and able to deliver reliable power to actuators, relays, and indicators. The process image comprises 16 outputs and 16 diagnostic inputs, facilitating precise system monitoring. With an operating temperature range of 0–55 °C and seamless integration into EtherCAT-based networks, the IE2808 is engineered for robust, decentralized industrial automation applications.
