The IE5009 extension box unit from Beckhoff is part of the IE Extension Box Units series. It features a 12-pin outer thread M23 connector for SSI encoders, supports a nominal voltage of 24 V DC, delivers data transfer rates up to 1 MHz, and uses RS-485 differential signaling for reliable communication. Designed for industrial automation, it offers protection ratings of IP65/66/67 and operates between 0 °C and 55 °C. It consumes just 55 mA and includes a single channel for encoder connections.
