The Beckhoff IE6002-0000 is an industrial-grade serial interface extension box from the IE Extension Box Series, designed for connecting devices via the RS232 interface. It features two data channels capable of concurrent sending and receiving (TxD and RxD) at baud rates ranging from 1200 to 115,200. The default is set to 9600 baud for low-speed scientific instruments. This full-duplex module employs a rugged M12 screw-type connector, suitable for demanding industrial environments, and operates on a 24 V DC supply with a -15% to +20% tolerance. The IE6002-0000 ensures high signal integrity with bit distortion under 3% for cable lengths up to 15 meters. It transmits data transparently without packet communication and includes a 128-byte receive buffer and a 16-byte transmit buffer for efficient data handling. All signals are electrically isolated, preventing interference in industrial communication systems. The device conforms to RS232 (EIA-232) standards.
