KL4428
The Beckhoff KL4428 module is a precision analog output terminal from the KL Analog Input Modules series by Beckhoff. Featuring 8 outputs with 12-bit resolution, it delivers accurate current signals in the 4 to 20 mA range. Powered primarily by 24 V DC via power contacts and alternatively by 15 V DC through a KL9515 terminal, the KL4428 is designed for seamless integration into industrial automation systems. Its compact design supports space-saving installation on a standard 35 mm DIN rail, making it ideal for complex control cabinets that demand high channel density and precise signal control.
This module employs single-ended technology to manage eight independent channels efficiently, achieving a conversion time of approximately 8 ms per channel. Electrical isolation of 500 V between the K-bus and signal voltage ensures operational reliability in harsh environments. The KL4428 draws a typical 20 mA from the K-bus and 60 mA + load current from the power contacts, maintaining a relative output error of only ± 0.2% of full scale. Each output can drive loads up to 150 Ω and remains short-circuit proof. With process image data widths of 8 × 16 bit (optional 8 × 8 bit control/status), this module provides flexible data handling for real-time control applications.
Built to meet stringent industrial standards, the KL4428 withstands vibration in accordance with EN 60068-2-6 and shock per EN 60068-2-27. It operates reliably across a temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and can be stored between – 25 °C and 85 °C without degradation. The polycarbonate housing achieves an IP20 protection rating, and supports pluggable wiring solutions compatible with KSxxxx terminals for rapid configuration changes. Labeling with the BZxxxx series ensures clear identification, while increased packing density optimizes cabinet layouts.
