The Beckhoff KM2008 is a robust member of the KM Bus Terminals series designed for demanding industrial automation environments. Manufactured by Beckhoff, this bus terminal module supports up to 64 digital output channels configured across eight connectors, ensuring versatile signal distribution. The module operates on a nominal voltage of 24 Volts DC with a tolerance of –15%/+20% and delivers reliable performance within an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C. Each output channel is short-circuit proof and features reverse voltage protection, with a maximum short-circuit current of less than 2 Amps and a breaking energy of under 150 mJ per channel. The module provides 500 Volts of electrical isolation between the K-bus and the field potential, minimizing interference and enhancing signal integrity. Its output channels support lamp, inductive, and resistive loads, delivering up to 0.5 A per channel and sustaining at least 50,000 switching cycles of electrical life. Operational reliability is reinforced by a rated voltage of 250 V AC on its push-button switch interface and a mounting hole diameter of 16 mm that aligns with standard panel cutouts. The KM2008 features a single NO contact configuration on its switch, providing straightforward manual control when needed. Ambient conditions supported include storage from –25 °C to +85 °C and up to 95% relative humidity, ensuring stable performance in fluctuating environments. Installation on a 35 mm DIN rail compliant with EN 60715 offers flexibility in system layout and quick module replacement without disrupting adjacent modules.
