The KSM 12-2, created by Kollmorgen, is a reliable and expandable fail-safe programmable logic controller employed widely in emergency stop and risk reduction facilities. Possessing two independent processing units, this controller can manage up to 65 safe I/Os, two monitored axes, and two encoder interfaces. It also has a trio of cut-off channels and a variety of outputs including two safe digital, one safe relay, two standard, and two pulse outputs. Power is supplied through a 24VDC voltage at 2A current, with a maximum output current of 0.25A on the digital output. Although it lacks an integrated communication interface, it compensates with logic processing and diagram-oriented programming. The controller conforms with DIN 50 178 specifications, operates within a temperature range of -10° to 70° C, and weighs only 390g. This compact and versatile unit is available for global delivery.
