MDD025A-N-100-N2K-040PB1
The MDD025A-N-100-N2K-040PB1 is a brushless synchronous servo motor manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MDD Synchronous Motors series. Designed for use with digital drive controllers, it converts commanded current into precise rotational motion for pick-and-place heads, miniature spindles, and indexing tables in automated lines. Its 025 frame, A-length housing, and integrated absolute encoder provide a compact source of position data and torque, so controlled axes can resume operation without a homing cycle after a power interruption or controlled shutdown.
The mechanical interface begins with a centering pilot of 40 mm, keeping the stator coaxial with the mounting flange during installation. Standard dynamic balancing limits residual vibration when the rotor reaches the rated speed of 10,000 rpm. At standstill, the motor can supply a continuous torque of 0.33 Nm, supporting light-load positioning without overheating. Power, brake, and sensor leads exit to the rear because the terminations are on side B, and a keyed connector permits quick disconnection and reconnection during service. A standard housing encloses the windings, and a shaft seal is fitted to protect the front bearing from coolant splash or lubricant migration.
A blocking brake mounted at the rear generates 1.0 Nm of static holding torque, allowing vertical axes to remain secure when the drive is de-energized. Rotor angle during motion is measured through resolver feedback, while the integrated encoder retains absolute multi-turn information for startup alignment after power returns. The output shaft has a keyway and is shipped without a secondary shaft end, which simplifies coupling to timing pulleys or miniature gear reducers. This single-ended shaft layout also leaves the rear of the motor available for the brake and feedback components.
