MDD041A-N-100-N2K-050MB1
The MDD041A-N-100-N2K-050MB1 is a compact synchronous servo unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the MDD Synchronous Motors series. It is intended for use with digital drive controllers, providing closed-loop motion control for small indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, and lightweight tool axes. By combining a resolver and an absolute encoder in one housing, the motor supplies both coarse commutation data and fine position information to the drive, enabling high-speed positioning without external feedback devices.
The rotor delivers a continuous standstill torque of 0.64 Nm, allowing the drive to hold or slowly advance a load without forced cooling. Its rated operating point sits at a nominal speed of 10,000 rpm, so rapid cycle work can be executed without gear reduction. A centering diameter of 50 mm forms the locating pilot on the front face, ensuring concentric installation against precision mounting plates. The integrated blocking brake supplies 1.2 Nm of holding torque, keeping vertical or offset loads in position when power is removed. Position data is supplied through resolver feedback, which is resistant to electrical noise and supports coarse absolute startup referencing. All power, brake, and signal conductors terminate on a plug-in connector, allowing quick exchange without disturbing cabinet wiring.
Cabling exits toward the rear because the power and signal ports are oriented on Side B of the stator, a layout that leaves the motor front clear for tooling fixtures. Torque is transmitted by a keyway shaft that mates directly with keyed couplings or pulleys, and the shaft area is supplied without a shaft seal, so an external seal is needed if fluid ingress is expected. Standard dynamic balancing limits vibration, while the A-length, size 041 housing keeps mass low for compact gantry axes. A single shaft end is fitted, and the opposite side remains blank to shorten overall length and simplify bearing support.
