MDD071A-N-040-N2S-095GB2
The MDD071A-N-040-N2S-095GB2 is a brushless AC synchronous motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MDD Synchronous Motors series. It is intended for use with digital drive controllers and works with compatible DDS or DIAX units to provide closed-loop speed and position control on compact machine axes. The motor uses a standard housing with internal permanent magnets and a plug-in connector arrangement, which helps support predictable operation and straightforward electrical hookup during machine assembly. Its compact format suits feed axes, indexing stations, and other motion applications that need repeatable servo response without a large motor envelope.
At standstill, the rotor can provide a continuous torque of 2.2 Nm, giving the axis stable force during controlled low-speed operation. The motor reaches a rated speed of 4000 rpm, which supports faster traversing motion on compact machinery. A holding brake rated at 6.5 Nm engages when power is removed to help maintain axis position. Installation is supported by a 95 mm centering diameter for accurate alignment on the machine interface. Rotor position is returned through Digital servo feedback (DSF), giving the controller the signals needed for commutation, speed monitoring, and closed-loop correction.
Mechanical connection is provided by a plain shaft, which is suited to clamping hubs and similar coupling elements. The power and encoder connectors exit on Side B, helping keep cable routing away from the active machine area in many layouts and reducing interference with nearby guarding or tooling. The motor uses frame size 071, which supports compact installation where mounting space is limited. A factory-installed shaft seal helps block coolant splash and dust from reaching the shaft journal. Standard balancing also supports smooth running during acceleration and frequent direction changes.
