The Okuma MIV08-3-V5 is an AC spindle drive with a power capacity of 7.5 kW. This drive uses a MIV Inverter Spindle and a versatile motor that can be either a VAC or IPM type. The inverter control for this model is ICB3 and it possesses control ROM of type 5. This MIV unit displays its capacity, motor type, control board, and control ROM for user ease. It includes a 1-axis feed shaft and PLC axis, and can operate with either a PREX or BL motor. Its simple construction includes internal and external cooling fans, a heat sink, an inverter control board, unit case, power board, and power device. The MIV unit requires special attention while changing modes, as it contains a large capacitance capacitor that requires two minutes to discharge after power is shut off.
