The NEXTSTEP-120, developed by global automation company Kollmorgen, is a superior micro-stepping drive designed for complex motion control applications. Functioning at the pinnacle of open-loop position control systems, the NEXTSTEP-120 delivers unmatched levels of throughput. It features a cost-effective, high-function motor/drive package that offers excellent performance and versatility, compatible with a range of high torque NEMA motors. Operating on a standard line voltage of 120 VAC with a 160 VDC bus voltage, the drive offers a selectable motor current setting of up to 7.9 Amps and an adjustable motor current waveform for optimal precision and smoothness. It boasts built-in regenerative circuitry, enabling significant energy dissipation from large inertial loads and resonance-free circuitry that ensures superior speed/torque control. Offering the highest possible acceleration/deceleration rates from a step motor, it's built to withstand volatile conditions with protection against short circuits, under-voltage and overtemperature. Operating within a 90-120 VAC single-phase connection, the NEXTSTEP-120 also fosters close-proximity multi-drive unit mounting.
