PSI 6300.740L1
The PSI 6300.740L1 frequency inverter from Bosch Rexroth Indramat is a high-performance unit in the PSI Frequency Inverters series designed for demanding industrial environments. It accepts three-phase supplies of 400 V to 480 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, delivering up to 800 A maximum output current and sustaining a continuous thermal current of 110 A. Protected to IP20, the unit is built to operate reliably between 0 °C and +55 °C, with storage and transport tolerances from –25 °C to +70 °C. An isolated RS-232 V24 programming interface provides secure communication on a 9-pin D-Sub connector, and internal storage supports up to 256 individually callable programs. This inverter is ruggedly packaged to meet climatic category 3K3 and withstand up to 2000 m altitude without performance degradation.
Technical capabilities of the PSI 6300.740L1 include versatile analog outputs on terminal X2, configurable for 0–10 V (max. 20 mA), 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA (≤500 Ω). The built-in backup battery (lithium AA 3.6 V) ensures parameter retention for approximately two years. The main switch trigger contacts accommodate 24 V DC (max. 6 A) or 42 V AC (max. 1 A) loads, while the control supply operates on 24 V DC (+20%/–15%, max. ±5% ripple) at a rated current of approximately 1.5 A (excluding I/O module and X5 consumers). During startup, the inverter draws around 2.0 A for up to 10 ms. Integration of sophisticated fieldbus options such as PROFIBUS-FMS, INTERBUS-PMS and Ethernet 10 MBit allows seamless network connectivity.
Operational features focus on stability, safety and efficiency. The unit uses air cooling with a Bosch fan cowl and an internal regulatory system to maintain optimal temperatures, even under continuous ambient conditions up to 45 °C and peak operating limits of 55 °C. A metal oxide varistor provides overvoltage protection, while the combination with a PSG 3100 transformer can deliver up to 36 kA secondary current for heavy-duty applications. Conductor connections are simplified with 50 mm² for input and 35 mm² for output cables via 90 mm² box terminals. Total enclosure power drain is just 69 W, and compliance with EN 61131-2 ensures reliable digital I/O performance. Additional functionality includes a weld timer feature and connectivity via serial-parallel and Fieldbus I/O interfaces.
Integration into modular enclosures and switchgear cabinets (up to IP54) is straightforward thanks to its compact footprint and IP20 housing. The inverter’s ability to handle TN or TT line voltages and operate up to 2000 m altitude makes it suitable for global deployment in machine tools, robotics, process control and multi-motor drive systems. With extensive program storage, multiple communication protocols and robust protection standards, the PSI 6300.740L1 delivers a flexible solution for modern industrial automation and control architectures.
