The Kollmorgen S60300-590 servo drive, part of the S600 Servo Drives series by Kollmorgen, provides precise motion control in a compact, rugged package. It is designed for panel mounting with a standardized aircraft mounting cutout and an anodized aluminum alloy panel that resists moisture and vibration. The drive accepts a wide AC supply range of 3 x 230 V AC at 50 Hz (–10% to +10%) or 3 x 208 V AC at 60 Hz (–10% to +10%), delivering up to 3 A rms continuous output current with a 6 A rms peak output current capability for up to five seconds. Weighing 4 kg and measuring 275 mm × 70 mm × 265 mm (H×W×D), it integrates easily into industrial automation control cabinets.
The S60300-590 drive’s power stage features a rated installed load of 2 kVA and a DC bus link voltage window of 290 V to 675 V. The output transistor stage operates with an 8 kHz clock frequency, adjustable up to 16 kHz when the DC link is at 400 V, supporting a maximum load inductance of 75 mH and a minimum of 12 mH. Overvoltage protection is active between 450 V and 900 V DC, while the residual voltage drop at rated current is limited to 5 V. The form factor of the output current is 1.01, and the subordinate current controller bandwidth exceeds 1.2 kHz, ensuring rapid current loop response.
Operational features include a minimum brake output current of 0.15 A up to a maximum of 2 A, suitable for external holding brake coils. The relay output supports DC switching up to 30 V or AC switching up to 42 V at a maximum of 500 mA. With power dissipation of 15 W when the output stage is disabled and 40 W at rated current, thermal management is optimized through the anodized aluminum enclosure. Quick-disconnect terminals simplify field wiring, while environmental sealing ensures operation from –40 °C to +70 °C.
System integration is streamlined by the drive’s compliance with 230…480 V AC motor networks and its 28 VDC logic interface. The panel mount design and standardized cutout enable drop-in replacement in existing control panels.
