The SERVOSTAR-670, produced by Kollmorgen, is an advanced electric servo control designed for precise motor management in diverse industrial applications. This unit is equipped with a differential input voltage capacity of ~10 V at terminal X3/7 with 2.4 kΩ input resistance and a common mode voltage level of ~10 V. Its high update rate of 62.5 µs ensures accurate and responsive operation. The device features advanced thermal protection via Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) sensors, embedded within the motor windings, to prevent overheating by executing a thermal cut-off. Additionally, the Tn, I-integration time within the control loop allows for fine-tuning, essential for applications requiring precise motion or positioning, with the SSI-interface providing cyclic absolute position outputs. Furthermore, setpoint ramps control acceleration to avoid system instability, and passive conduction efficiently maintains low temperatures without internal fans, with internal temperatures under 55°C and the heat sink under 60°C.
