The SERVOSTAR SP by Kollmorgen is a high-quality servo amplifier designed for precise control in industrial machines and processes. It supports up to 14 devices and ensures smooth signal processing. Key features include thermal protection through PTCs on motor windings to prevent overheating, and a controlled Tn, I time constant for effective loop control. The amplifier provides precision positioning via an SSI-interface and implements velocity-dependent setpoint ramps to minimize mechanical wear. Its power filter smooths AC-induced potential differences, safeguarding the system during high-frequency AC loads, and it supports multiple communication protocols including CANopen, PROFIBUS, and SERCOS. The optional -2CAN- module enables separate use of CAN and RS232 signals with parallel CAN connectors featuring switchable termination resistors. For installations where motor cables exceed 25 meters, the use of motor chokes like the 3YLNxx is recommended to reduce velocity ripples and protect the amplifier's output stage.
