The Kollmorgen SS2000DP4 is a dual-packaged translator/drive featuring two autonomous stepper motor drives and their corresponding power supply within a singular unit. Each drive operates with an adjustable speed bipolar system and a two-phase PWM circuit using hybrid power devices, capable of achieving up to 3,000 RPM. The SS2000DP4 incorporates optically isolated control signals to minimize electrical noise and has capability for microstep operation at 20,000 microsteps per revolution. The unit offers various protective features including overtemperature, short-circuit and transient overvoltage protection, as well as providing optically isolated inputs. The current level can be adjusted from 0.5 to 3.5 Amps, and it offers an efficient thermal design. The unit, which weighs 15 pounds, is tailored for vertical mounting and should be kept at a maximum ambient temperature of 70 degrees Celsius. The SS2000DP4 also features an AC input current draw of 2.5 Amps at 115 Volts and 1.25 Amps at 230 Volts with a maximum heat dissipation of 70 Watts. Compatible with Superior Electric M and KM series motors, the unit necessitates a certain distance from noise sources and includes LED indicator lights to monitor power, fault and overtemperature conditions.
