VLT 2040
The Danfoss VLT 2040 frequency converter is a robust member of the VLT 2000 Frequency Converters series by Danfoss. This industrial drive delivers a typical shaft output of 2.2 kW and supports a maximum output current (ct) of 5.6 A for continuous operation. Housed in an IP20 enclosure, it ensures secure protection of internal components. Its primary function is to provide precise and efficient motor speed regulation for medium-duty industrial applications, enabling smooth acceleration, deceleration and torque control across a wide range of processes.
Designed for three-phase mains with a supply voltage of 3 x 380-460 V ±10%, the VLT 2040 features an output frequency range of 0-120 Hz or 0-500 Hz programmable to match conventional and non-standard motor speed requirements. At 415 V, it delivers 4.0 kVA output power with a power factor exceeding 0.90 and efficiency greater than 97% at rated load. The drive tolerates short-term overloads of 9.0 A for 60 seconds while supporting a maximum motor cable length of 40 m (unscreened up to 300 m, screened up to 150 m). Its output voltage range of 0–100% of mains voltage and support for motor voltages of 380/400/415/440/460 V underline its adaptability to diverse automation systems.
The VLT 2040 operates reliably in ambient temperatures from 0°C to +40°C at full load, making it suitable for a variety of industrial environments. With a compact weight of 4.6 kg, it can be easily integrated into existing control cabinets. Built-in programmability and IP20 protection ensure durability and safe handling. The drive’s high efficiency and power factor reduce energy consumption and operational costs, while its overload tolerance and extensive voltage/frequency flexibility guarantee process stability. In industrial automation applications, the VLT 2040 stands out for delivering precise control, energy savings and long-term reliability.
