The X20AP3131, produced by B & R Automation, is a versatile energy metering module designed for use with X20 PLCs. It is tailored for 3-phase AC systems, specifically measuring power and energy through current transformers. The module features an input impedance of 1.68 megaohms and supports a nominal phase-to-phase voltage up to 480 Volts AC. With a resolution of 10 millivolts for direct voltage application, it measures frequencies ranging from 45 to 60 Hertz with a 0.01 Hertz resolution. The unit includes four AC current inputs with a primary nominal current of 65 Amps and supports short-term current surges up to 8 times the nominal for 0.5 seconds. The module provides diagnostic capabilities via LEDs and software, and power consumption varies by hardware revision, with a maximum of 0.85 Watts for older revisions. Additionally, it offers robust isolation of 5500 Volts DC for inputs to ground and bus systems.
