The X20CP1585, produced by B & R Automation, is a robust controller powered by a 1 GHz Atom processor with 256 MB DDR2 SDRAM. It features an additional I/O processor and provides Ethernet, Powerlink, and USB interfaces, with an expansion slot for X20 modules. Memory can be augmented using CompactFlash. Designed for fanless cooling, it includes LED and software diagnostics for CPU, battery, Ethernet, Powerlink, and CompactFlash. The controller does not support redundancy but offers functionalities like Visual Components, ACOPOS, and storage health data. Power consumption is rated at 8.8 Watts (controller) and 1.42 Watts (X2X power supply), with internal I/O consuming 0.6 Watts. The unit operates at 24 Volts DC with a maximum input current of 1.5 Amps. The lithium battery has a lifespan of two years at 23°C ambient temperature. The controller supports up to 256 kB remanent variables, with a 200 microseconds minimum task cycle time.
