The Copley Controls XM2-230-20 from the XENUS Digital Loop Modules series is a high-performance dual-axis MACRO drive designed for precision motion control in industrial automation. It delivers a robust output peak current of 20 Adc per axis with a continuous current rating of 10 Adc, supporting demanding acceleration and load conditions. With a universal mains input voltage range of 100–240 Vac, 50/60 Hz, this module seamlessly integrates into standard power systems. Its primary function is to provide accurate current, velocity, and position control loops in a compact, dual-axis package optimized for OEM and retrofit applications.
The XM2-230-20 features fully 100% digital control loops for current, velocity, and position, sampled at a high rate of 16 kHz (62.5 μs) to ensure rapid response and stability. It accepts analog torque and velocity inputs of ±10 Vdc with 14-bit resolution, managed through two dedicated reference inputs. The drive supports multiple feedback protocols, including SSI, EnDat, and BiSS, as well as quadrature A/B encoder feedback for precise motion feedback. Communication is facilitated by a full-duplex RS-232 interface operating from 9 600 to 115 200 baud. Safe Torque Off (STO) functionality conforms to SIL 3, Cat 3, Performance Level d for enhanced safety.
