XSL-230-36
The Copley Controls XSL-230-36 digital loop module, part of the XENUS Digital Loop Modules series, delivers robust performance for precision motion control in industrial automation. It provides a 36 Adc peak current output and a 12 Adc continuous DC current, enabling the drive to handle demanding load variations with ease. With an ambient operating temperature range of 0 to +45 °C, this controller module is engineered to maintain stable operation under standard factory conditions.
This module features a high-speed 15 kHz current loop sampling rate and a 3 kHz velocity & position sampling rate, ensuring rapid response and tight regulation of motor currents and motion profiles. Communications are supported via CANopen and RS232 protocols, while command interfaces include ±10 V, ASCII, discrete I/O, stepper, and PWM modes to match diverse control architectures. Unique to this design is the inclusion of 12 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs for flexible I/O integration, alongside multiple control modes such as point-to-point, PVT, camming, gearing, position, velocity, torque, and indexing.
For seamless integration and reliable performance, the XSL-230-36 accepts a 100-240 VAC ±10%, 1Ø/3Ø, 47-63 Hz power supply and must be cooled by a heatsink or forced air. It supports a comprehensive array of feedback types—including quadrature A/B, secondary encoder, analog sin/cos, resolver, and Hall sensors—ensuring compatibility with most motor feedback devices. With dimensions of 7.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 in (191 x 140 x 64 mm) and a compact weight of 3.0 lb (1.36 kg) without heatsink, it occupies minimal panel space. The module’s -40 to +85 °C storage rating and industrial-grade construction confer exceptional durability. In industrial environments, the XSL-230-36 enhances control precision, accelerates response times, and improves overall system reliability.
