The 5345 micro-stepper motor drive, made by Pacific Scientific, is integral to the company's 5000 series motors. This module features intelligent, electronics-based controls that effectively function as a bipolar chopper. It manipulates the motor's winding currents using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and Pacific Scientific's programming language. It accepts all kinds of inputs like stepping pulse, direction, and current control while providing outputs in sync with the two-phase stepper motors' input characteristics. Notably, the 5345 module has a 'Micro step' value with current boost over 500 steps per second and an idle current reduction circuit that lowers the motor current during idle periods. Its driver circuit operates with a voltage input from 18 to 75 Vdc and 2.5 +/- .1 Amp current. Offering protection from common issues like ground short circuits and overheating, the 5345 module also includes an LED panel for critical situation alerts.
