The Danaher SS930-10000 from the Timers and Controllers series is a high-performance Safety Light Curtain Controller designed for industrial automation. Manufactured by Danaher, this compact unit provides a maximum count rate of 40 kHz and features three individual 6-decade range presets. Its primary function is to precisely monitor and control safety light curtains, ensuring reliable machine safeguarding and operator protection in automated production environments. It includes an 8-character, 0.4-inch red LED display for clear status indication and user feedback.
The SS930-10000 operates on an 85–265 VAC, 50–60 Hz, 20 VA power input with an optional 12 VDC @ 0.5 A supply. It offers flexible control outputs with 3 solid state outputs (100 mA sink max., 24 VDC max.) and optional 3 SPDT relay outputs rated at 1 Amp. An RS-485 ModBus RTU interface (1200–9600 baud) enables remote diagnostics and parameter configuration. The unit supports multiple operation modes—including A-B, A+B, and quadrature—while its accessory supply output of 12 VDC at 175 mA powers external sensors. Users can configure 3 individual presets via external or front-panel reset inputs, all housed within a compact 2.0 in H x 4.0 in W x 5.56 in D enclosure.
Built for rugged industrial conditions, the controller features a powder-coated steel housing rated IP54 for dust and splash protection, and mounts via surface flanges with pre-drilled holes. Its internal EMI/RFI filtered power input and surge protection ensure stable operation in electrically noisy environments, while self-checking circuitry and redundant failsafe relays enhance system integrity. Capable of operating from -15 °C to +65 °C, it accommodates humidity levels from 10% to 90% non-condensing.
