The Pacific Scientific 6410-001-N-N-N converts step and direction input into motor winding currents, controlling the two-phase stepper motor. Features include Idle Current Reduction (ICR) and Digital Electronic Damping Control. ICR can reduce motor winding current by up to 50% during the motor's dwell period, commencing 0.1 seconds after the last input step pulse. This delay can be adjusted to last between 0.005 and 1 second with a plug-on jumper. Meanwhile, the Digital Electronic Damping Control eliminates potential torque loss and prevents motor stalling when in mid-range speed. Users can switch-select their output current, from 5ARMS to 0.625 ARMS. This stepper motor driver operates on a voltage ranging between 24 and 75 VDC. The device also leverages plug-on jumpers including a step filter, crucial in rejecting noise pulses that are less than 500 ns wide from the step input.
