Beckhoff's EL6224 IO-Link terminal simplifies the connection and parameterisation of up to four IO-Link capable devices such as sensors or actuators, through point-to-point communication. With the aid of the EtherCAT master, the terminal can be parameterised and network adjustments can be made. The EL6224 serves as an efficient link between sensors and the Fieldbus level providing bidirectional exchange of parameters. TwinCAT software can be employed for device parameterisation. Detailed specifications of the EL6224 include four IO-Link channels, 24V DC field voltage, data rates of 230.4/38.4/4.8 kbaud, and maximum cable length of 20 metres. It provides a 500 mA supply current for devices, consumes 120 mA current via E-bus, and ensures 500V electrical isolation. The lightweight device (60g) has a protection class of IP20 and is operational in temperatures between -25 and 60°C. CE, UL and II 3 G Ex nA IIC T4 Gc have certified the EL6224. The operation should be restricted to specialists in control and automation engineering.
