The Beckhoff CX8091 Embedded PC is a compact and versatile automation control unit, part of the CX series. Measuring 64mm x 100mm x 73mm and weighing approximately 180g, the device touts an IP20 protection class and shock resistance meeting EN 60068-2-27 standards. Key features include 512MB microSD flash memory, 64MB DDR2 RAM main memory, web-based management, and options for online change and web visualization. The device includes multiple interfaces such as USB, a fieldbus interface, and an RJ45 interface. It supports OPC UA and BACnet protocols. The CX8091 auto-detects E/K-Bus terminals during start-up. It offers potential for diversification by integrating optional bus systems like PROFINET, CANopen, and PROFIBUS via its EtherCAT terminal. Optimally installed on a DIN rail in a terminal box, it requires 30mm clearance above and below for sufficient ventilation. Suitable applications range from PLC program processing to serving as a subordinate device in complex fieldbus systems.
