The Beckhoff Automation GmBH's EK1818 EtherCAT coupler, belonging to the EK1800 series, is a versatile device furnished with eight digital inputs and four digital outputs. The product boasts a commendable data transfer speed of 100Mbaud. Fitted with multiple diagnostic LEDs, this unit ensures efficient monitoring of power supply, EtherCAT state machine/PLC, Fieldbus, and digital inputs or outputs. The EK1818 EtherCAT coupler, strictly designed to be used in conjunction with Beckhoff’s UL Listed EtherCAT system, has a short-circuit current rating of less than 2A. With an IP 20 protection rating, this coupler supports the connection of various terminals through its right side and a high-level network via the left side. The device is equipped to handle ferrule, stranded wire, and solid wire type conductors and enforce reverse polarity protection. With a power supply rating of 24VDC, the EtherCAT coupler is viable for an operating temperature range of -25°C to 60°C. Please note that the coupler can't be used with a switch or router.
